July 12, 2011

SiriusXM Book Radio the 24/7 channel devoted to books and authors invites listeners to rock and roll all week long with the airing of the audio edition of "Rockers and Rollers: A Full Throttle Memoir" (Harper Audio),the new book by AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson, written and read by the legendary lead singer.

SiriusXM Book Radio (ch. 80) will air a new installment of "Rockers and Rollers" every night this week beginning at 10:00 pm ET. In this tribute to his obsession with four wheels, Johnson tells tales of his life on the road and talking about his passions music and fast cars in his own ribald and hilarious style. These are the stories of a man who drives as hard as he rocks.

Comedian/SiriusXM host Jim Breuer, Johnson's good friend and one of his biggest fans, recently sat down with him to talk about the book. This conversation will air on Friday, July 15 at 10:45 p.m. ET on SiriusXM Book Radio, immediately following the last installment of "Rockers and Rollers".

Breuer is the host of "Fridays with Breuer" on SiriusXM's Raw Dog Comedy channel.

SiriusXM Book Radio will replay the entire audio book and the interview with Jim Breuer on Saturday, July 16 from 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. ET.

While other AC/DC books like "AC/DC: Maximum Rock And Roll" have covered the history of the band, a press release stated that "Rockers And Rollers" gives fans "a rare, riveting window into Brian Johnson's other driving passion, his love for automobiles. From teenage memories in the backs of beat-up coups to a side career as a race car driver, Johnson shares his tantalizing life story a memoir told through his lifelong love affair with cars."

Johnson told Motor Trend magazine that his obsession with driving began as a child, when his father bought him a steering wheel and put a stick through it. He explained, "I put it through the headboard of my bed and put four cushions up. My dad would shake his head. I would drive all over the world. I'd just be sitting there (makes engine sound). I could hear my father say to my mother, 'We're going to have to do something about him.'"
